The first Frankfurt Financial District Watch was unveiled in 1999 and marked a landmark decision for our company. Up until then, the name Sinn Spezialuhren had been synonymous with innovative timepieces specially designed for pilot and diving missions. The expansion towards classic, elegant series proved to be hugely popular with our customers. After all, a Frankfurt Financial District Watch is the perfect accessory for festive occasions or day-to-day business – exhibiting both elegance and the durability typical of Sinn Spezialuhren.

The appeal of this series is now being further enhanced by the new model 6068 B. This watch gains its allure from the blue dial, which is exquisitely finished with a sunburst decoration.

The model also features characteristics that connoisseurs of this series have come to appreciate. For example, the Frankfurt Financial District Watch 6068 B is characterised by two time zones that can be read simultaneously. The movement is exquisitely decorated. Particularly eye-catching are the Geneva stripes and blued screws. Sapphire crystal is used for both the watch crystal and the transparent case back, offering an impressive view of the bull and bear rotor engraving.

While the case is made of polished stainless steel, the appliqués attached to the blue dial are luminous, along with the hour and minute hands. The watch is also waterproof and pressure-resistant up to 10 bar and resistant to low pressure.

With ‘Frankfurt am Main’ lettering on the dial and rotor engraving of the Frankfurt skyline, the chronograph documents for the first time the extraordinary relationship between the company and the financial metropolis. Model 6000 also marks the start of a classic series of Frankfurt Financial District Watches, each with their own individual characteristics. Of particular significance is model 6099. Released on the occasion of the 15th anniversary and based on the original model, the classic, elegant chronograph displays three time zones on a 12-hour basis and a rotor engraving of the Frankfurt skyline. The Frankfurt World Time Watch 6096 has a diameter of 41.5 mm, and with an overall height of just 10.1 mm, it is also remarkably flat. The watch is thus extremely comfortable to wear and works very well in combination with a shirt and suit.

The black dial with sunburst decoration exudes an air of classical elegance and high quality. The deep, silky matt shine accentuates the rhodium-plated appliqués to striking effect. The appliqués are luminous and have been individually attached by hand.

To achieve this, the dial blank is first refined using the classic satinizing technique with a sunburst cut, and then blackened in a galvanic process. The result is a deep, silky, matte shine that retains its deep black hue longer than any varnish or paint. The white, extremely long-lasting luminous special paint is applied by expert hands to the hands of the watch – just like the rhodanized appliqués.

The roots of model 6012 run deep into our traditional Frankfurt Financial District Watches, which were launched in 1999 with model 6000. The 6012 clearly demonstrates how we have continued to develop the series over the past 20 years and equip the various timepieces with remarkable features.

Model 6012 is the first to feature the Sinn SZ06 movement. Thanks to this complex factory modification, we were able to combine the stopwatch minute counter with 60-second scale and the full calendar display with a moon phase display. This also ensures optimum readability, as the stopwatch minutes from 0 to 60 can easily be read.

For the moon discs on the moon phase display we use real mother-of-pearl. Due to the special, naturally occurring surface structure, mother-of-pearl creates a matt iridescent finish, which enhances the elegance of the watch.

As a clear indication of our roots and reference to our home town, a stylish engraving of the Frankfurt skyline adorns the rotor of the fine, exquisitely decorated movement.

With this in mind, it was only a small, yet logical step to the development of a watch commemorating this fascinating city on the Main River.
