Developing and using “unconventional” case materials for watchmaking is one of our core competencies. It is deeply rooted in our company’s historical DNA and has produced a number of astonishing timepieces in the past. The T50 GBDR edition is another impressive demonstration of our extensive expertise in the field of metallurgy.

For the diver’s bezel of this interesting timepiece, we are using a bronze alloy we developed, which is patented. This alloy, referred to as Goldbronze 125, has an exceptionally high degree of purity, and one eighth of it is gold. With bronze, we are embracing a material that has been used frequently in a wide range of maritime applications in the past. However, the exceptionally high degree of purity of our Goldbronze 125 results in improved skin compatibility and increased corrosion resistance to seawater compared to conventional bronze alloys. Material-technically matching this, the case of the T50 GBDR is made of high-strength titanium. As this metal does not cause allergies, the watch provides exceptionally high wearing comfort overall. Goldbronze 125 continues to develop a darkening of the surface due to oxidation, also known as a patina. However, the alloy achieves a higher degree of inertness in the face of environmental influences than ordinary bronze (CuSn8) because it has gold as a component. If desired, the mentioned darkening of the surface can be removed with a gold bronze cleaning cloth provided that the oxidation is minimal enough.

A concept tailored for operational safety ensures that nothing goes wrong when diving. This can be seen, for example, in the robust diver’s bezel. It is an extremely reliable tool for timekeeping, as it is captively attached to the case. It is also protected against accidental twisting. “Press first, then turn”: this is the memorable principle behind the simple yet effective anti-twist mechanism. When things get tough, Ar-Dehumidifying Technology ensures greater functional reliability and freedom from fogging.

The captive safety diver’s bezel made of Goldbronze 125 harmonises perfectly with the matte black dial – an interplay that skilfully contrasts with the more objective-technical appearance of the bead-blasted, high-strength titanium case. All this does not come at the expense of clear readability and measurability – because the display has been reduced to the bare essentials. Important design features of this concept are strikingly large sword hands and the visual understatement of all functions and printing on the dial and safety bezel that are not relevant to the actual dive. The timepiece also uses colour-coding to ensure reliable reading of reference times, especially in the dark or under adverse visibility conditions. The hour hands and indices on the dial glow green, while the minute and second hands and the main marking on the rotating bezel are bluish. As the crown is located at 4 o’clock, it prevents pressure on the back of the hand, even during physically demanding activities.

With its diameter of 41 mm, the T50 GBDR model cuts a wearable figure in any situation - especially on narrow wrists.

Bead-blasted stainless-steel case, shock-proof acrylic glass and solid back: three features of our 356 PILOT Classic W anniversary model build a bridge to a watch that established this series 25 years ago. 1998 saw the launch of the 356 PILOT model with exactly this equipment.

Unlike the timepiece in the beginning, the 356 PILOT W is equipped with a special complication. This refers to the bicompax arrangement of the black, electroplated matt-silk counters. As an appreciative expression of 25 steadfast years, we have enhanced the dials at six o’clock with the unmistakable lettering ‘FLIEGER KLASSIK’, which is also a novelty in this series.

The matt-silk white dial of the 356 PILOT Classic W model embodies timeless elegance paired with clarity. Perfectly combined with this, the hands for the hour, minute and stopwatch second are shiny black and, like the twelve indices, filled with bright luminous colour.

The watch is powered by a high-precision mechanical movement with an increased power reserve of over 56 hours.

A technical, sporty look complemented by a diverse range of functions: with this watch, we’ve managed to combine uncompromising function and high-quality design in a whole new way. It’s not only the reduced, contemporary form that wins over watch experts, but also the fact that the timepiece can be used as a versatile instrument.

Using the bidirectional rotating bezel with 24-hour ratcheting, you can set up a second time zone. As a result, adjusting the local time only takes a few seconds, without you having to adjust the orange UTC hand using the crown. Of course, you can also set the UTC hand in the conventional way using the crown and leave the rotating bezel in its initial position. The arrow-shaped UTC hand can also be used to roughly determine cardinal points, when the current position of the sun is visible. If you’re located in the northern hemisphere, position the dial horizontally and turn the watch so that the 12-hour hand (ignoring daylight savings time) points to the sun. The 24-hour hand then points to the north.

An inherent combination of watchmaking craftsmanship and distinctly traditional aesthetics defines the style of our 1739 Ag B model. The eyes are drawn to the electroplated blue dial exquisitely decorated with a sunburst finish. Reduced to a minimum, the design focuses on the essentials – the hour and minute display. The resulting clarity, skilfully combined with the polished, rhodium-plated appliqués meticulously attached by hand, conveys a harmonious overall appearance.

It was therefore only logical for us to capture the elegance of this two-handed watch in a case made of special material: 935 Argentium* silver alloy. The advantage of this over traditional precious metal is that rather than tarnishing and blackening like normal silver, Argentium* forms a protective germanium oxide surface layer. This layer considerably slows down the tarnishing process. Instead, a golden hue develops, which can be removed with an Argentium* care cloth.

And because we know that looking at the mechanics of the movement is just as important as looking at the dial for many watch lovers, we have equipped the 1739 Ag B with a transparent back made of sapphire crystal glass. Therefore, just as much attention can be devoted to the fascinating movement as to the watch dial.

This exceptionally beautiful timepiece comes in an elegant case containing two Argentium* care cloths. This, in addition to the fact that the watch is water-resistant and pressure-resistant up to 10 bar as well as resistant to low pressure, ensures long-lasting enjoyment of an exceptional timepiece.

The Sinn Spezialuhren brand has always stayed true to its roots, ultimately making a name for itself back in the early 1960s with its pilot watches and cockpit clocks. Originally designed for the German Luftwaffe’s Tornado programme in the late 1970s, the Nabo 17 ZM was a cockpit clock with a central minute counter. These type of cockpit clocks are still used by the military today in Tornado multirole combat aircraft. They were also used in the F-104 Starfighter, the Breguet Atlantic – a long-range maritime patrol aircraft – and in military helicopters such as the Bölkow Bo 105. A special feature of these clocks was the start and reset buttons at the bottom of the case, as well as the easy-to-read orange hands of the chronograph’s central stopwatch display for seconds and minutes.

The design and style of the Nabo 17 ZM provided the inspiration for model 717. This timepiece also features a central stopwatch display for seconds and minutes in the form of large orange hands, which is created using our time-honoured SINN chronograph movement SZ01. The case houses an interior pilot’s bezel, which can be smoothly operated from the outer diameter of the watch. In keeping with its predecessor, the dial is distinguished by its excellent readability – even in the dark or under adverse lighting conditions – thanks to the sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating on both sides. All in all, and at 45 mm in diameter, the 717 cuts a fine figure.

An elegant instrument: even at first glance it is clear what characterises this chronograph with bicompax arrangement of the counters.

The chronograph 936 is a reliable time measurement instrument equipped with TEGIMENT Technology and Magnetic Field Protection. The dial is designed to greatly increase clarity and readability. The chronograph movement SZ05 was redesigned in house and focuses on the stopwatch minute display with 60-second scale at 3 o’clock and running seconds at 9 o’clock. The advantage of this is that it does away with the necessity of adding stopwatch minutes, as is required with conventional 30-second stopwatch minute displays. Optimum readability is also ensured in the dark, as the indices, hour and minute hands are coated in luminous white. Furthermore, the 936 is pressure-resistant up to 10 bar and resistant to low pressure.

The 936 also boasts clear design aesthetics expressed through elegant details such as the skeletonised hour and minute hands – both of which are rhodium coated and matt brushed. The counter rings for the stopwatch minutes and seconds have an iridescent effect, caused by a fine central groove.

Every rescue mission to which emergency doctors are dispatched is a race to save lives – and against time. For the 'golden hour' and 'platinum ten menutes' are decisive in determining the course of action taken. This means that a patient should arrive at the hospital within the hour of an accident and that a critical patient should be treated and transported within the first ten minutes.

We have designed the EZM 12 specifically for such life-saving missions. A count-up inner rotating bezel allows emergency doctors to constantly keep an eye on the specified time frames, while a countdown outer rotating bezel enables e.g. the exact times for administering medication to be monitored. The seconds hand – designed in the shape of a rotor – features an integrated pulse scale which enables easy recording of the heart rate every 15 seconds. The EZM 12 ensures emergency personnel are equipped with a high-performing tool that will contribute significantly to saving lives.

Another special feature of the EZM 12 is the easy-clean watch and strap. The silicone strap can also be removed without the use of tools. The rotating bezel is removed using the large screwdriver on the pocketknife provided.

Moonlight stalking with the HUNTING WATCH 3006. The HUNTING WATCH 3006 is the first of our watches to feature this extraordinary complication. The moonlight display has been purposefully positioned at 6 o’clock, with a luminous moon symbol to ensure it is easy to see, even in the dark. The story behind this additional function: hunters not only need a clear, open view for a successful hunt; they also need the right light. Hunters refer to the right lighting conditions for stalking as good hunting light. The German federal hunting law (Bundesjagdgesetz) prohibits the practice of hunting with the aid of artificial light sources (section 5, § 19, paragraph 5 a). In order to be able to hunt the authorised types of game at night-time, there must be adequate natural lighting from the moonlight. The moonlight display on the HUNTING WATCH 3006 shows when the moon is shining bright enough to see and catch the game.
